CAIRNS FISHING TRIPS

Fantastic Fun. We caught so many big fish. I caught this beautiful Red Emperor
Best Cairns fishing charters ever.

Cairns River Fishing

Come and Join our Cairns Fishing Charters  for a Cairns estuary, river fishing charters as we target the famous Barramundi.  Imagine carefully placing your lure in the perfect position near a timber snag laying in a dirty water current. A twitch of the lure and crash! A big chrome Barramundi strikes. The battle is on!

Threadfin King Salmon

All of our Cairns fishing charters include top of the range Shimano rods and reels filled with braid line and we will try live baiting and lures casting in the creeks and estuaries around Cairns, Trinity Inlet. The Mulgrave river and
Johnstone river are another option for a full day tour. For the lure angler there are so many opportunities on offer. Apart from casting the usual mangrove haunts of a creek, the Trinity inlet holds many small wrecks that are home to big Barramundi, Fingermark, Black Jewfish, Mangrove Jack and Threadfin Salmon. Another point of interest are the many man made structures that are often over looked. The jetty pylons and landing platforms for example hold big Mangrove Jacks, Fingermark and Barramundi with soft plastics, vibes and micro jigs being the weapons of choice. Cairns Fishing Adventures also offers a little more for your money as our boat is licensed for both inshore and offshore. This means we are not limited to just the estuary with the river mouth being the outer limit for many other boats. The long row of channel markers that head out to sea hold Barramundi, Queenfish, Trevally, Cobia, Mackerel and Fingermark and are great fun on light tackle. On favourable conditions we are always eager to head out and throw a few lures around as part of your half or full day river fishing charter Cairns.

Our day will begin around 7.30 am where we will spend a little time catching our live bait of herring, mullet or prawns using a cast net. From there, we are off to start our days fishing but the tides will dictate where we start from. We will probably move several times during the day as the tide changes and fish move positions.

You will need to bring a few personal items such as hat, sunglasses, suitable clothing, camera, food and drink. Alcohol is welcome in moderation. You are welcome to keep your catch as long as all Queensland legal size and possession limits have been met.
Professional netting was banned many years ago in this area so Cairns has become a world class Barramundi fishery.
